Mesenkia was founded on a simple conviction: that decades of rigorous research should translate into real options for patients who today have almost none. Our work originates from Uppsala University and the University of Tokyo and is driven by scientists who have spent their careers understanding how tumors grow, spread and evade the immune system. At the heart of our company is the KITAIbodies^® platform — a modular platform built around single-domain antibodies. Because these antibodies are small and exceptionally stable, they reach further into tumors than conventional antibodies and can be engineered into a range of therapeutic formats, from mAbs and bispecifics to ADCs and fusion proteins. A partnership with Mesenkia give access to a platform that can generate programs across multiple indications.

We believe the best science is developed in collaboration, and we are intentionally open in how we work with others. Our goal is straightforward: to combine Swedish and Japanese scientific excellence with the right partners to bring first-in-class therapies to the patients who need them most.

Mesenkia is the first company with the validated proprietary technology to target two pathways, the HVEM -APRIL and the HVEM-BTLA. The KITAIbodies® are built on one core domain, which enables a potent dual mechanism of immune checkpoint inhibition and targeted therapy.

Our strategy is to enter co-development by granting external programs to access our modular platform. This enables scalable co-development of first-in-class therapeutics across multiple oncology indications and diverse modalities.

Mesenkia is a preclinical deep tech company turning decades of world-leading research into first-in-class therapies for glioblastoma and solid tumor indications. What sets us apart is not a single molecule but a platform. The KITAIbodies^® technology can generate many programs across many indications, giving investors broad exposure to long-term value rather than a single bet. Backed by science from Uppsala University and the University of Tokyo, and protected by a growing patent portfolio, we are building toward a First-in-Human study in 2030.

The innovation targets the global glioblastoma market currently valued at just under $3B and is expected to reach $5.7B by 2033. Recent market activities are driving interest in the brain cancer market, exemplified by the multimillion deals made by Roche ($55M upfront and $2B in milestones and royalty) and Merck ($30M upfront and $1.3B in milestones and royalty) who acquired companies to expand into the glioblastoma market. Further, Servier recent success with VORANIGO, which is projected to exceed $1 billion in annual peak sales in the U.S, in the non-competitive indication of IDH-mutated glioma. The glioblastoma market size is expected to be 4 times larger than that for VORANIGO.
